Quite often it is possible to meet situations whenfor some reason, users of Windows systems have to solve the problem of how to delete a partition. Disk management (built-in system tool) allows you to do this without any problems. You can use specialized programs. But in any case, this issue must be approached very seriously, first weighed all the pros and cons. Basically, these actions are used to merge partitions when you need to fix some system crashes, to prepare for a re-installation, or to convert GPT partitions.
In Windows-systems themselves there is a built-inmeans to work with any type of partition. This is a utility called "Disk Management". Delete a partition or perform any other manipulations with it is quite simple.
Access to this tool is availablein several ways: via PCM on the computer icon, through the "Control Panel" (disk management is called through administration) or through the "Run" menu by entering the diskmgmt.msc command.
It is enough to select the desired section and throughThe PCM menu uses the volume delete string. The system will issue a warning that the data in this section will be destroyed. If you agree, confirm the action, after which a so-called untagged area will appear in which you can create a new partition or expand another partition at its expense. But that is another topic.
One of the universal tools for suchoperations can be called the command line, which uses the tool DiskPart (a means of managing the partitioning of disks into partitions). The actions here are fairly simple, but you should be especially careful when choosing the right sections.
So, disk management in Windows 10 or in anyAnother version of the system through the command console begins with its call with administrator privileges (cmd) and input the primary command diskpart with the keystroke input after it.
After that, the execution of the line list volume givesThe ability to view all disks and partitions available in the system. Only they will be marked not by letters, but by numbers (the desired partition can be defined, if only by its size).
Next, select the partition to be deleted using the line list volume N, where N is the number of the desired partition.
Finally, enter the delete volume command, afterwhich, in fact, is followed by removal. If the selected volume is not deleted for some reason, you can write an extended version of the delete command over delete. After all the procedures are completed, the exit line is exited, after which the console can be closed and rebooted.
If the user for some reason does not wantor can not use the built-in tools in the system, as a means of removing any disk management program used to create logical partitions.
Among the simplest and most popular utilities can be identified the following:
Let's consider as an example the first utility presented in the list (although almost all of them work on the same principles and especially abstruse interfaces do not differ).
Here you just need to highlight theuser section, and then in the menu at the bottom left select the delete string. It seems that everything is simple. But the advantage of this application is that it immediately offers two options for removal: fast and complete. In the first case, the removal will be done in such a way that after that, if there are appropriate programs for restoring information to the previously stored files and folders in the section, anyone can access it.
In the second case, it is alleged that informationwill be erased completely, and it will not be possible to restore it even if the most advanced software is used (the sectors in which information was stored earlier will have zero values). However, in many cases the impossibility of data recovery in this case raises legitimate doubts.
Next, choose the preferred method and clickbutton "OK", after which a pending task will be created. In the panel from above we press the button "Apply", and then after checking the correctness of the data in the confirmation window, we press the "Go" button. After that, the selected partition will be deleted (the estimated time for the operation is displayed at the bottom of the window).
That's all, as for third-party programs, command line and the Windows "Disk Management" tool. To delete a partition in all three cases is quite simple. The main question is only the expediency of carrying out such actions, because to install the system you will have to create a boot partition, make its markup by formatting, etc. And the security of information should be thought in advance by copying it to another location or by creating a backup copy.
